Shipping policy
We strongly recommend that someone is available at the delivery address during the stated delivery window.
While parcels can be left in a safe place (ideally shaded and out of direct sunlight), this is done at your own risk. Once a parcel has been left according to your instructions, Bromfields Butchers cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage, or spoilage.
Delivery Instructions
When placing your order, please include clear delivery instructions in the ‘Delivery Instructions’ box at checkout.
This may include:
- A safe place
- A preferred neighbour
- Any access details for the driver
Failure to provide instructions may result in delivery issues.
Missed Deliveries & Perishable Goods
Due to the perishable nature of our products:
- If delivery cannot be completed
- And we are unable to contact you
- And no delivery instructions have been provided
Our delivery partner may dispose of the parcel in line with food safety regulations.
Redelivery is not possible in these circumstances.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure delivery can be completed successfully. Bromfields Butchers cannot accept liability where delivery fails due to missing or insufficient instructions.
Tracking & Delivery Management
We recommend using your courier’s tracking notifications to stay updated on your delivery.
You will receive:
- Real-time tracking updates
- Delivery time windows
- Confirmation once delivered
You can also request parcels to be left in a safe place or with a neighbour directly through tracking options.
Neighbour Deliveries
If you are unlikely to be available, we strongly recommend requesting delivery to a neighbour.
Proof of Delivery & Responsibility
Once your parcel has been delivered and a proof of delivery photo has been taken, responsibility for the parcel transfers to you.
Bromfields Butchers and our courier are not liable for:
- Theft
- Damage after delivery
- Delays in retrieving the parcel
Delivery Notifications
Drivers may not always knock or ring the doorbell.
You will receive a delivery notification via text or email once your parcel has been delivered. This is the most reliable way to track your delivery, so please monitor your messages closely.
If you live in a property with a communal entrance or shared space, your parcel may be left there. We strongly advise collecting it promptly upon notification.
Important: Temperature Control, Delivery Window & Delays
All orders are carefully packed using insulated packaging and gel ice packs to maintain a safe chilled temperature for up to 48 hours in transit.
This 48-hour window has been established through rigorous testing to ensure products remain within safe consumption temperatures throughout the delivery journey.
While we always aim for next-day delivery, by placing an order with Bromfields Butchers, you acknowledge and accept that courier delays can occasionally occur, particularly during periods of high demand, adverse weather, or operational issues outside of our control.
By completing your purchase, you agree to the following:
- The 48-hour chilled packaging window is the benchmark for product safety
- Orders delivered within this 48-hour period are considered safe and fit for purpose
- Delays within this timeframe do not constitute a failed delivery or grounds for a claim
As such, no refunds, replacements, or claims will be accepted for delivery delays where the order is delivered within the 48-hour temperature-controlled window.
If, in the unlikely event, your order arrives beyond the 48-hour window, or you believe the condition of the goods has been compromised:
- You must notify us within 24 hours of delivery
- Provide clear photographic evidence
- We will assess the issue on a case-by-case basis
Important
Once your order has been delivered, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure it is brought inside and refrigerated promptly.
