Our Story

Bromfields Butchers was founded by Ralph Bromfield, a highly skilled butcher with extensive experience in the wholesale meat trade. From the very beginning, the aim was simple: to provide exceptional quality meat, prepared properly and supplied with care to people who value good food.

Today, Bromfields is run by second generation butcher Chris Bromfield, who continues the family tradition with a hands-on approach and an unwavering commitment to quality. Alongside his wife Fay, Chris helped grow the business to serve retail customers directly — allowing households across the UK to enjoy Bromfields’ produce through Click & Collect and chilled delivery.

At its heart, Bromfields remains a family-run, independent butcher. We’re proud to work with a close-knit team, many of whom have been with us for years, and we believe strongly in personal service, traditional butchery, and doing things the right way. Looking to the future, we hope our son Alex will one day follow in his father’s footsteps and continue the Bromfields family tradition.

We work closely with trusted suppliers and British farms, carefully selecting meat for quality, freshness, and flavour. Animal welfare is extremely important to us, and we place a strong emphasis on sourcing from suppliers whose standards of animal care and slaughter align closely with our own. We’re committed to responsible sourcing and transparency wherever possible, and every cut is butcher-prepared with care.
